Whaddyer all doing gabbing in here ?! Ya oughta be out with your kids & SWMBO I watched my CBS Sunday Morning then @ 07:30 grabbed my tools and headed out to get to work , finshed up , played with the dogs , stripped the linens , tossed my new (7 years ago still unworn) suit in the car along with the dity linens and some freshly laundered dress shirts and headed on down to So. Central , tore the trunk apart on SWMBO's Toyletta to fix the mangled seatbelt (jids , gotta love 'em) then came in , started the wash and fired up the 'puter to find all youse guys gabbing away..... Why can't I get to Andy ' Been A Long Time ' thread ? all I get is " page cannot be displayed " Be good all (or at least don't get caught)
Was about 70 here yesterday but 50 today. That's okay, the preacher warmed us up in a packed sanctuary. The CEOs were there in full force. (That is Christmas and Easter Only attendees). If it weren't for what happened on this day there would be no Christianity as we know it. Those who are inclined can thank God for a risen Saviour. Gater
Amen Brother. Went skiing in a foot of powder yesterday. The season has to be over soon so I can get on task and get 'r runnin'.
I'm in here gabbing because I'm the uncorruptible judge in the egg decorating contest going on right now. I'm not allowed out until summoned! Gater, I'm with you 100%!
1954 3 speed tranny There are two fill plugs, one on the side and one on top, which should I check and which one should I fill the trans. oil level up to? does that question make sense?
Wrong Section For This Question ..The side one is the fill plug . The one on top at the rear , was for filling the U-Joint cavity in the factory . If you fill the side one slowly and let it settle , the oil should creep through the rear main bearing and fill that cavity , requireing you to add a little bit more to bring the levl up to the edge of the filler hole . Look around the 'Net for 1/2" NPT magnetic drain plugs and install one ASAP ~ it'll make your tired old tranny last a lot longer . About once a year (or every 10,000 miles if you're driving it) you should drain & re-fill the gear box regardless of milage . Don't forget to top up the steering gearbox too while you're at it ~ this makes the truck steer very easily .
Thanks Nate I realized too late I was posting in the wrong section but I thought in the spirit of Easter everyone would forgive me. Anyhow, when I pulled the side plug oil spewed out onto the garage floor since the plug escaped and rolled half way under the truck. I guess that means it was too full? Do the two plugs fill the same resevoir? thanks
