:D Drove her around the neigborhood a couple of times today and all was good. Never missed a beat and seemed to run smoother the more I drove. It took me an hour to get the vacuum wipers in but they would only work when I sprayed the windshield with soapy water. Don't think I can do that and drive at the same time:eek: Once I get some electric wipers (will order tonight so hopefully this week) I'll take her in for inspection and then I can drive all day:) Paint will come in a few months after I shake out all of the bugs!

Looking very good there ! .

A rebuilt wiper motor would work too and it's quite a bit cheaper...

    Yeah, Baby!

Sweet! You gonna drive it to Tomball next weekend and let me take a good look? Better yet, c'mon to the house and we'll drive it up to the Klein show and shine and blow their doors off! Good job!

    Very Sweet

Very clean looking ride, Steve. Great job. I wish it would stop snowing and warm up so I could get to it! More photos, please. Larry

    Thanks for the encouragement!

Thanks guys! The truck was in pretty good shape when I started for something that had sat in a barn for 25 years. Not much rust, just lots of old mud, cobwebs, bee nests, rotted wire, etc. It took 6 months to rebuild everything to a point where I now can now safely drive and continue to tinker.

Ken, Tombal will have to wait for a few months until I build up a little confidence in a 40 mile run! It will come however! This weekend will be a cruise to Home Depot for about 10 big bags of mulch!

One interior picture below, still rebuilding doors. (windows are now in but still lots of work to do) I was happy with how the rattle can dash board came out. Not bad for about $4 of spray paint.

    Looking GREAT !

    Way to go Steve .

About Tombal : driving there is the same as driving 'round the block 47 times , it's just a lot more fun :p

If it runs O.,K. and stops well , GO FOR IT ! .

My buddy had an old beat up '51 3100 and was flabbergasted when I suggested he drive it 12 miles to work after I'd tuned it up and adjusted the brakes.. so that Saturday , I went to his house early , dragged him out of bed and drove him to Bakersfield  in it (100 + miles) , bought him lunch and said I don't want to hear anymore B.S. about not driving it anywhere he wanted to go ~ it's a CHEBBY so it's not only made for the road , it's hungry for the road .
