Well after thinking about it for so long I finally tackled the job converting my std. cab to a big window. I'm doing a restomod restoration on a 57. I had a parts cab with a big back window for a donor. The job was very time consuming. I drilled LOTS of spotwelds. I took the areas apart at actual joints at the roof line (in the drip rail) and along the door openings and made a long cut underneath the windows, below the second body crease on that area just above where the box comes to. I allowed for a 1/4" overlap, used a panel crimper on the cab portion of that long cut so I had an overlap seam to weld. It now needs some body work over that welded area. I'm pleased with how it came out.
