    Hello all,
I have a question regarding the H.E.I. I am installing, do I need to use a ballast resistor anymore? or do I go directly from the distributor to coil, and battery? Thanks for any advice.

No resistor. Just run +12 to the 12v terminal, fire it up.

If you're using a GM HEI dizzy , the other , unused connection by the 12 V power terminal , is for your tachometer's signal lead .

Thanks...I was just out trying to fire it up for the first time since the rebuild, I was not getting any spark:mad:, I gave up and decided to chase down the problem tomorrow.

If it is a GM unit you should use a 12 gauge wire from the switch to the distributor, no resistor. This means you also need at least a 12g feed to the switch, 10 is better.
