Anybody else getting bogus emails that you have a PM here? Rather than clicking on the link in the email I rec'd, I accessed this site and found that I had NO PM's???? (I had a bogus email this morining from another vBulletin forum site too...) I've removed my work email address - so I hope I don't get too many more of these... We recently had someone register here just to send spam via private messages (probably something automated rather than an actual person). That email you received was sent by our server (not the spammer directly) to inform you of the message. Those emails can be useful to let you know when someone sends you a legitimate private message, but you also have the option to not be informed by email if you'd like. You can do that by going to the Edit Options section of your forum control panel (click here), unchecking the option that says "Receive Email Notification of New Private Messages", and clicking Save Changes at the bottom. I deleted all of those spam messages this morning, sometime between the time the message was sent and the time when you logged into the forums to get it, which is why it no longer says you have a private message waiting. Sorry for the trouble. We're now trying something new that will hopefully cut down on the amount of spam on the forums.
