hey everybody sorry i have been gone so long i finally took the family on vacation. i have an extra battery that is brand new and i dont want it to go bad. i was thinking about putting it in parralel with the other one in my truck. will this cause any problems like too much amperage? if its in parralel i will still have 12 volts. any input? thanks, robert

Won't cause problems, just run an isolator. Your alternator should not have any problems keeping them charged. Search battery isolator, many sell the kits for rv, 4x4, stereo applications.

No , it won't cause any problems and doesn't need an isolator unless you're going to run stuff off it that might concievably run the batteries dead .

Simply add another battery tray and wire it up paralell , I used to do this on 6 volt vehicles to ensure easy starting in those cold New England winters , didn't even need to tweak the voltage regulator to keep them both charged .
