I know this is a truck forum but I am so impressed with this forum that I want to try you, have a 66 Nova, just installed engine and it will not start with the switch, have power to selenoid and power to everything with switch 'on' and can start it with remote starter (which I use to adjust valves) but it will not start with switch, screwed up somewhere just don't know where, Thanks in advance.

Do you get "anything" from the switch ? Or nothing at all ? Starter "click" ? Anything ??

With key in the Acc position are the guages powered ? Radio ? Heater blower ?

Problem may be with the switch itself or the way it is wired if all the answers are " NO".

Yes, I have spark and can start it with remote starter, when I use switch in start mode, sometimes as I let off on switch (it's spring loaded) it will start, so I know there's something not letting juice go to coil while in start mode.

sounds like your "constant wire" or "start position wire" are not making consistent contact. check the wires. also maybe pull the switch apart and clean the contacts. i once had an issue were the motor would just turn over and as soon as i let go of the key so it would be in the run position, the engine would die. it turned out to just be the contacts in the ign switch. i had tested the wires and they all showed good, they didnt show to be bad because it was in the switch itself.

It sounds like the starter might be incorrectly wired.
