I went out to my project in the garage on Saturday and attempted to back out my truck and discovered I could not get it to go in reverse. It shifted fine in 1st, 2nd and 3rd. I checked my fluid level in the trans and added a little but this did not seem to matter. Anybody ever have a problem like this? Thanks guys, Scottys54
That's interesting . Silly question but : your clutch is O.K. ? hasn't been waiting to take up until your foot is almost off the pedal ? once in a blue moon they'll drive forward but not reverse . Sounds crazy but there it is . In any case , the trannies are pretty simple , take a look and see what's what .
nate thanks for the info Nate. It has never given me any problems before and it worked just fine the last time I had it out of the garage. I thought I would check the linkage while I had someone in the cab shifting it to see if I could see anything. I just put a new clutch plate on not evan 1,000 miles ago shifting is great unless you want to go in reverse...... Thanks again Nate
Ok, this may sound stupid, but is the emergency brake on or stuck? I haven't experienced this in a while, but I have had the vehicle move one way, but not the other with the emergency brake on. I think it would back up, but not move forward. IIRC. Can you hear or feel the clutch engaging? BTDT, Howard
