I have a 2nd series 1/2 ton pickup that was restored original about 5 years ago. The original radiator was cleaned and cored at that time. Since then it has begun to leak. It may be just around the bottom hose, but I might replace it anyway. Is there anyone out there that is reproducing the original radiator with the original marking? I would like to replace my original with one that has the original markings to keep it as authentic as possible.
Chevy Duty has radiators. I would call them on it being originl.Bothers also has radiators, said it to be like originl.:7 Good luck Brandon
Did the radiator line up correctly. I purchased one from another supplier. I needed to trim the bottom flang to get it slide in for the bolt holes to line up. The bottom hose was too short. After a few days, I decided to rough measure the placement of the bolt holes and the replacement seems to be closer to the top than the original. I will pull the replacement out and set it back to back with the original to make sure. I may need to drill new holes. So much for an easy drop-in replacement.
Who did you purchase it from. I too need a new radiator. The hill jacks who had the truck before put in smoe sort of radiator and drilled new holes in the support. Does any one know if the CD one will drop right in? Also I have a 327 in it and want to make sure it will stay cool...Ed
I purchased mine from Jim ##### only because I could get all the hoses, clamps, caps, and petcock at one place. I took a while to get the radiator because it was backordered.
go to a radiator shop and have them recore it. they will use your top and bottom tanks. a shop close to me priced it $200.00 .thats a little chepper than a new one .
