    Cloth tape

    Over here you can get cloth tape, either self adhesive or not, and you can wrap it yourself, its hard to get hold of but a few vendors do keep it. Just a thought.

    I'm with you, Robert!

    Chevsofthe40s has them too and they are $580+. I thought I wanted one for my truck too until I priced them! I'm very happy with my cheapo:D wiring harness from CP!

    (blush) Thanks (blush)

    I think you'll be impressed with the wiring harness from our host! My truck is a 6 to 12 volt convert with a 12 v generator, turn signal added w/ front parking lights used for the turn signals, and the CP harness was a dream to install!

    Cheapo Harness

    Robert ;

    I have the Chevy Duty $100.00 Taiwanese harness in my '49 for some years now (over 10) and it's still working fine .

    The terminals are really delicate so you've gotta hold 'em with one hand as you tighten the screws else they'll rip right off (guess how I disvovered this ?)

    I highly recommend this basic harness , maybe the single upgrade one for alternator and turn signals , I have both on my stock typ harness , only had to run one additional wire for the right rear turn signal/brake lap circuit .

    Yep I will go that route too but have a ton of other things to do first.
    have to go to the truckshop tomorrow to take back wrong parts.
    finished my floors now trying to get right parts for clutch and all that stuff
    so i can get eng/trans back in.
