[updated:LAST EDITED ON Feb-11-05 AT 09:14 PM (CST)]If one was lucky enough to have a choice. Which would make for the better restoration out of two condition 4 57 3100's? A 283 (180hp) or 235 (140hp)? Anyone have some pros and cons. the 283 had a unique engine mount for that year. Why? The overall hp and torque not that great. 23%(stock) But the v8 has more potential are there any break down of percentage of production for v8's that year? Burned out on the research. and only want to put 6-7k in.here NY, CT,
283's are plentiful and very strong.Aftermarket parts for most any 350 will fit, which makes them very flexible.
