Got my chassis back today. Here are some pics. Progress comin along. Now is time to start the All new Bushings, Brakes, Brake Lines and fuel tank. will keep everyone up to speed on progress. The guy i had sandblast it did a great job. Let me know what you think.......
The frame looke great. I called inline tube for a set of pre bent stainless brake lines. Went in great with no problems.
Looks Great ! Don't forget ball joints. Those look to be the originals and are most likely shot.. Val
Definetly original ball joints, I plan to replace along with all bushings. The Blasting and primer cost me $250 dollars. the primer is an epoxy. Its harder than h*ll but i plan to cover it with an Acrylic paint (color to be determined) Thanks for all the comments.
Looks good Arlo Do you plan to leave it stock or adding the disc brakes?? i agree dont forget to freshen up the suspension parts.
right now im going to stick with drums to get a rolling chassis. everything will be new on the chassis. I do plan to go to dic brakes being i dont have much choice. the Motor going in is 502. so upgrades will be necessary.
ok new ball joints, upper and lower and a little paint. going to replace inner and outer tie rod ends tonight. A liitle before and after shot will update the after pictures tonight
it sure is nice to know i aint the only one using the infamous wal-mart flat/semi gloss spray paint on my truck. he he g.t.
This weekends Progress Im am about to shoot it with a "real" paint just trying to hit all those spots you cannot get with tearing the chassis back apart. This weekends progress....
