Well, I'm learning. Using a gun to paint a surface is much different from the rattle can! However~ I'm learning from my mistakes. It didn't help to have a gun without any papers so I could adjust things. The only thing I could adjust was pressure at the gun. The rest came by doing. I learned a trick. On a vertical surface, paint from one side to the other in an up/down motion, not from top down and side to side. (At least it worked better for me...)
Anyway~ it is red and shines like a diamond! It still has some orange peel and signs of runs from the first attempt, but that's why I started with the top of the cab. You'll only see this if you're standing in the bed.
    Hope you enjoy the pictures!

    Thanks all!

I feel as though I've come a "l-o-n-g" way since I logged on here way back when. I don't care to look at how far I have left, but I know my truck wouldn't look like it does without you guys helping out! The encouragement alone made/makes all the difference.;)

I especially appreciate you not dragging me through the coals about painting my truck with a gun, and not my beloved rattle cans~ I have a new-found respect for all those that paint these things and get that "smooth as glass" look! We'll see how far I progress...

I have two good shots of a particular "G" at a local shine and show tonight. I'll post the pictures tomorrow.

    Tits!

Rob stopped by and helped me get my cab back the way it's supposed to set! He's a truely great guy and in the 100+ heat index, he went above and beyond just to come over and stand outside with me. My cab went down sooooooooooooo smoothly... and now, in the moonlight, looks~ well...
    tits!
Again, a tribute to the great folks on this site!
    (you too, brit;))

Hey Zig, glad I could help. Your truck is looking excellent. Pictures dont do it justice. It looks freakin "tits" in person.

just remember, shixt buffs off. you can always fix a little run or peel, or tell people you meant to do it that way.

Thanks for the compliments Zig. My truck is coming along slowly. But I can live with the black & gray for a while. I'm still working out all the bugs and getting everything lined up before I get real paint.

I love flying the USA flag off the back of my truck. Vintage American steel with an American flag just looks cool.

    One step forward...

Well, after taking it down to bare metal, etch prime, sanding primer, I now have this to look at. It won't win any "Best Paint" awards, but it's top drawer in my book. I just can't wait until it's done.

BTW, I met another guy that has a '52 Chevy he's had forrrrr ever! He has a 292 and a 350 auto with an updated back end in it. He impresses me as a "Nate-ly" kind of guy. VERY knowledgeable about these rigs! I'll get some photos of his rig and get them posted.

Anyway~ here are some more pictures.
