    :) howziit guys!

i am trying to replace all items that the seller and builder decided to remove or disconnect...like wipers, horn, speedo, all dash lights and gauges, air vent grilles, AND THE ENTIRE EMERGENCY BRAKE SYSTEM.

so far, i've re-installed everything, except the grilles(still looking) and the hand brake.

not interested in the pull-handle type near the center floor, since i sometimes carry two passengers.

original one might not work, since the aftermarket GM fuse panel will probably reside where the rod penetrates the firewall.

any late-model ones that would fit?

BTW, the rear pull lever is still there, but i have NOTHING, forward or after, going into my 9" ford rear.

    thanks for help.

I had a 56 chevy pu that I put a hand brake in the left hand step area. It was a long handle with a button on the top. I installed a shaft bushing on the inside (Frame side) of the step and another on the frame. The shaft ran thru the bushings. It was very handy for the left hand to work and did not get in the way.

    thanks for responding.

i can visualize the shaft...but what connections do you have under the truck? cables to the rear brakes?

i've been reading my assembly manuals; the original system consisted of various pushrods, springs and levers, which actuated the emergency brake, near the transmission/u-joint.

the builder removed the brakes, because the original drivetrain was replaced, and the camaro subframe and fuse panel interfered with the brake handle and first rod and lever.

last resort, i know that aftermarket systems are available, but would any OEM systems work?
