I've been looking at oil filter adaptors and all that I find are listed for inline six or V-8 engines. Does anyone know where you can find one for the 305 V-6? or will one of the others work?
im honestly not sure, i havnt built a 305 v6 personally but i do know that junk yards use cross referencing books. even if they dont have the part, they can tell you what other motors that part matches up with. i know with certian parts like that ive called up a few buddys in the yards and asked them to hit the reference book for me. give it a try, theyll at least give you the direction you need.
I think you have to get the piece that bolts up to the block off a 305 that accepted the spin on type. As far as I know there isnt a "new" adapter.
Nobody makes an aftermarket spin-on oil filter adapter. GMC switched to spin-ons in 66 so you'd be able to use one of those in place of your canister-type. Bob
actually, if there the same as the small blocks, jegs sells the bolt on adaptor for the spin on filter.
The Small Block Chevy is a completely different application. This is what you need, it will bolt in place of your existing canister-type oil filter. Bob
