Hello all I am new to this forum I usually spend my time in the ford trucks.com forum but I may be aquiring a 78 Chevy 3/4 ton to go with my 77 f150 4x4 at home. The questions I have are who are the best sources for quality replacement parts for the classic chevy trucks and anything I should look out for in these years of trucks. Also what year runs of doors will fit on this truck I will give specs on truck below. Also what year runs of cabs will fit on the frame just not sure how good of shape the cab is.

Specs of truck are as follows:

    1978 Chevrolet K25 4x4
    Engine: 454c.i. w/ 600 cfm carter 4bbl carb
    Tranny: TH400
    Transfercase: Part time NP203
14 bolt rear, Dana 44 front low pinion
    Dual rear wheels (added)

This truck was my grandfathers he bought it new and swapped out the 350 and put on the dual rear wheels along with a flatbed and a heavier rear suspension. I have never seen a truck haul like this one can. I plan to ressurect it and start haulling wood with it again. Sorry for the long post and any info will be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks, Nathan

Well used door 77-91 your inner door panel be a drict bolt in on 77-1980 after you will have to do some small modes to get them to fit. But not to hard. the 81-91 have the third gen door panels and inner door handles, used door might have differnt mirror brackets holes in the door so you may have to fill them in. GM doors are hard to find nos. There is two after market body panel companies out there one is a little better one is cheaper made. They do not fit as good as GM but that what you have for the most part. They do have a lot of good parts here some are still GM parts they will cost a little more and they say most times.
there a few other places too, I like these two the best Classic Parts (here ) and LMC . I would check out both.
