well i got the carb rebuilt and put it on and i got to run it up to temp and the raidiator leaks like a stuck pig!!!!!!! and i look on classic parts almost $400 for a fucking raidiator !!!!!!! anyone got one that doesnt leak and keeps it cool for less?
Two parts to this post: 1. Check out your local wrecking yard. I had the same problem, and one I found on ebay leaked beyond repair, also. I found one from a 1978 Datsun 280Z that fit with minor modification. The problem after I installed it was that it sat higher than my fan, leaving about 30% of the fan below the bottom of the radiator (result = ran too hot). Since I'm not dead set on a complete restoration, I added a pair of 10" electric fans and a thermo switch. I also had to find the right top and bottom hoses, and the parts store just let me look 'til I found something that worked. About $150 later, I'm chillin just fine. 2. Clean up your language on this site. If you notice, people show reasonable restraint and a certain level of class in here. I would appreciate you doing the same. Save it for the bar.
1 a 280 z no way ill have to look into that option i know a z radiator is alot cheaper then $400 and i dont care about complete resto eather and i know where i can get one for cheap 2 that was right after i came in and found it leaking i was venting while i posted sorry
I had the radiator in father-in-laws truck rebuilt for 75 dollars. It was leaking around the neck and had one cut core. Repair shops are harder to find these days because of the environmental concerns but there are a few hanging in there. Also they rodded it and painted it fresh black. Might be an option.
p smith maybe be right take it to a radiator shop maybe they can fix it ? old ones most of the time can be fixed !!!
Most shops near me won't touch a honey comb style radiator for $340 you can get a polished welded aluminum radiator and they will cool to a eqivalent to a 5 core copper
