[updated:LAST EDITED ON Oct-09-02 AT 07:28 PM (CST)]According to http://www.inliners.org/casting/numgame.html the block (2324003) and head (2194819) numbers match on the I6 on my 55 1/2 ton. Does anyone know if this is as big a deal as some say and should it influence whether to restore or rebuild. I am just getting started on the body which is in pretty good shape and quite original.
[updated:LAST EDITED ON Oct-10-02 AT 04:54 PM (CST)]Restore ? Modify ? Personal choice. If you already have a "Numbers Matching" 55 and most of the original parts are there ??? I'd restore it. The numbers matching thing only infulences the value when the truck, or other vehicle, has been COMPLETLY restored. AKA Frame Off restoration. Otherwise, the fact that it is numbers matching will bump the value only slightly. Look under the seat, up inside the springs for the build sheet. If you are lucky, it will be there, if not , not a big deal. You can oder restoration packages from GM. Rumor has it that they provide them free of charge. Dennis
