Not quite sure what you're asking , the splines in a two piece driveshaft ? . In general grease is good , extra will be flung off or in the case of closed components (Torque Tube , axle/pinion bearings etc.) the oil will dissolve it so no harm done by greasing upon assembly . If you could post us a picture of what you need to know , that would help immensely .
Grease on the propellershaft to the gear side? With photos Hello vwnate1, as you see on the two photos there is the propellershaft the is connected to the gear. The componets there are sealed with a cork and a paper seal. Have I grease there or not? I hope my bad English will discribe the problem enough. wokri
Torque Tube U-Joint Spline Lube O.K. , I see you're asking about the splines on the front of the driveshaft , yes a thin coating of Moly based grease is good there . Please to remember that even though there is a Zerk fitting on the top of the U-Joint ball cavity , it uses 90W GEAR OIL for lubrication ! . BTW : I was born in the U.S.A. and I still have only a rudimentary grasp of the English Language so not to worry
