gas pedal sticking

    all the sudden my gas pedal wants to stick some times i have to pull it up with my foot any ideas on what the problem might be thanks

    The most likely I would think, would be a broken return spring at the carburetor. Aside from that, you need to check for bent linkage, or something rubbing, or binding on the linkage itself. Good luck.
    P.S. If that doesn't help, let us know the exact setup you have as far as engine, tranny etc........Mike

    pedal linkage

    I need to find a gas pedal linkage mine fell apart.
    any ideas where i should start my search for one???

    Look at the bell crank on the side of the cylinder block , often (usualy) the ends of the two rods wear bit by bit until they're floppy and so begin sticking ~ this can be a serious safety issue so take some time and have a look .

    Field repair is to add a couple thin flat washers to gusset the rods , better yet is to find new rods and bell crank or have the old one gas welded then file as needed to fit correctly . Some years used sheet metal bell cranks , these are easy to repair by welding up .
