im consiering lowering my truck but i dont want to go to extreme because im not sure what my final suspention set up will be im considering lowering blocks i dont think it will cause an issue in the back but what about the front? an one use lowering blocks on the stock straight axle?
Lowering blocks work on vehicles where the springs pass below the axle. Unfortunately our 55-59 trucks are not built this way. I removed two leaves from my 8 leaf GMC front springs and dropped the front bumper about 1.5" Counting from the smallest spring leaf, I removed #2 and #4.
