I am looking for the least expensive solution to add PS to my 56. Anything short of replacing major components (hubs, steering columns, etc.) is where I'd rather be. Any ideas on what has worked for anyone? Thanks, Jon
other post Jon did you get my e-mail about your other post. if so e-mail me back just in case i did not sent it right. thanks Robert
Split Manifold Robert, Got your emails/pics - thanks VERY much. A couple of questions: 1. Where did you find the extra exhaust flange? Is there a specific one I need to search for? 2. You refer to a "split" manifold, but from what you describe, it is the same intact manifold with an extra exhaust outlet. Is this correct, or am I missing something? Thanks, Jon
split manifold Jon in one of the pictures the guy welds a metal plate on the inside of the manifold to split it, 3 on 3, and remove the heat spring and filled in the hole. So when he puts that plate on the inside there's 3 cylinders of exhaust go out one side and 3 other cylinders of exhaust go out the new side, therefore it's a split exhaust on the inside like a header but one piece. on the outside hope this helps. Robert
flange i have to check the pics again but i think he said home depot . what size engine do you have a 216 or 235? that web site i gave you. also has a parts for sell section and might be able to find a manifold already split, Robert
Okay, I get it - that explains some of the pics that I couldn't quite follow. I have a 235 - will be interested to see what Home Depot will have to fix this! Thanks, Jon
