While putting the roof drip moldings back on my 86 after paint I've noticed that some of the holes are stripped. Was not this way when I took the moldings off.Is it possible that while my painter was sanding the top of my truck that too much of the surface was sanded off witch resulted in the holes getting bigger??The top had alot of surface rust.Anyway, does anybody have a good fix for this without messing up my paint.Any trick some one has used to help my screws get a bite?

I just finished installing my drip rails today and I used 3M double sided tape 1/2" wide and new stainless screws. The screws look to be size 8 X 3/8" long. It may be possible to use a size 10 x 3/8" or something metric.

As said that would be the best thing now. It is posable the sanding took a little to much off, if the holes where pulled up a little to much when unscrewing them. What you do is tap them down as flush as you can them stick up, before painting.
