Ken, Nate, and others have expressed an interest in the progress of the 37 Business Coupe even though this is a truck site. The body is finished and in prime with just the drip rails removed and the vent windows deleted in favor of a one piece door glass. It's stock profile is too pretty to chop up. The chassis is finished with a 409, turbo 400, and a nine inch. The picture shows the chassis, I hope, since it's from a camera phone and a new one on me. The link is to the web site of the engine builder and shows THIS engine leaving the line in a 3800 pound 62 (now in the 37--less one carb) so it should push a 1000# lighter 37 along pretty good. Go to www.perfenginc.com and click on "customer news"/Jay Gould 409's.

Nate, you're not alone. I was hoping to see that sleek, beautiful body, all in primer, just waiting to be lovingly put on a chassis myself. I'd love to meet the designer who came up with the '37-38 body. It is truly a classic!

    1937 Chevrolet Business Coupe

For those unfamiliar with this car , it's a honey ~ the 1937 model year was a real watershed for most manufacturers .

Waterfall grille , smooth body lines .

    Look up pictures

It's my deam car , of course I'd want it kitted out with a 235 or 261 , radio & heater for good touring potential .

I'm slipping I guess, I don't have any pics of the whole body in prime and it's at it's home till the market recovers a bit. The owner is a retired pilot and his funds are in a market that has gone from a Dow Jones of 15K to 8K (join the crowd) so though he's not in a soup line his hobby spending has decreased. Here are several shots showing what really good bracing can do for final body alignment and can be applied to an AD cab. Note the body molding lines and door gaps. It's a %#*@ to work around all the bracing but the results are pleasing.
