what to do now?

    It looks like my back Gmc wheels are locked up. Cannot drive backwards and driving forward produces smoke and loud squealing noises. Is this a problem with the brakes locking up or could it be the back axle? :confused:

    It sounds like your emergency brakes have engaged. What year model is your truck? That info will help in determining the potential problem.

    Pull your drums off and see if it turns freely. If not it is your axle. If you have a real hard time getting your drum off then the brake is probably engaged.

    Yeah that is exactly what i did last time... i found that the drum got stocked....
