    Hi, all
I need another set of rear leaf springs that will match up with the '48-'53 AD trucks. The shop that had my truck pulled my complete rear; and when asked of its whereabouts, I was told some crackheads must have stolen it back when the price of steel increased. Now, unless they're cutting crack with B-vitamins and protein supplements these days, most wont bother strolling a complete rear assembly down a city's main highway, let alone keeping abreast of the rise and fall of commodity prices. So, I need to know what type of leaf springs will fit on the AD trucks and possibly use the same shackles from the AD trucks. Not thinking, I ordered a set of shackles from Classic Parts and I will send them back if I can't find a easy to find set of comparable late model leaf springs. Oh, yeah, I will be using a late model Chevy rear to replace the one that was "stolen" by the questionable crackhead bandit. I figure any rear can be used as long as the spring seats are placed appropriately.
    Thanks in Advance.

    Hi,
Sorry to hear about this, is your truck a 1/2 , 3/4 or 1 ton?
Is the truck back at your place?

Thanks, it really ticked me off. The truck is 1/2 ton, and I have it at a more reputable place at the moment where I keep tabs on the progress; they even allow me to do my little projects as long as I don't get in their way. Also, I purchased the tapered lock pins for the rear leafs, but I don't really know where they go since the previous guys relieved it of its rear. So any advice on where they actually go will be a big help. The catalog says two pins are required. I'm on a return time limit, so the quicker the response the better.
    Thanks again

How far are you from Dallas, how many 1/2T AD rear springs do you need, and how big a truck do you have to haul them in?
