I'm having a strong 350 built for my '62 stepside and mating it with a TH200-4R tranny. Has any one done this before? What do I need for a cross member? What would the optimum rear end gear ratio be? What shift lever works (I currently have a 283 with top loader shifter)? Any ideas/suggestions are welcome.

You both need to get a 71-72 rear mount transmision crossmember. You will have to remove your bellhousing mount from the frame. If you go with the 2004R(overdrive) or TH350shorttail you can still retain your original driveshaft. The TH400 requires a different slip yoke, then the one you have, you also have the option of a 700R4 (for the overdrive), but then you have to have custom mods to your driveshaft. The 200R4 and 700R4 need the lock-up wired up. E-mail for details.
