new to the forums here and its nice to see all the good help people give. I have had some problems with a 1961 Apache 10 i just purchased with the 3 on the tree. three times this week while parking it has gotten stuck in first gear. took me awhile to figure about how to pop it back but now i have that down. i don't know much about cars, but the linkage seems loose to me. are there any instructions out there on how to properly secure the shift linkage? here are some pics. any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Shift Linkage.

Do you have the return spring in place (in the column)?

    Clean it up,

teach someone the gear pattern, clean up the linkage, and have them DRY RUN through the pattern. You'll see where it's hanging, and what needs to be done
