Does Anyone know the overall length and width, front and back of a 1950 3100 frame I have some literature but it seems by measuring my frame I am getting some conflicting info. Any help is appreciated thanks
Thanks Guys. Agreed that this is indeed a great site, however this is where I got my conflicting information to begin with. If I measure my frame it comes in at just around 173 3/4 however the site is telling my the overall frame length is 173 1/8. Is there something I don't know?
Frame Data My Truck Data Book for Chevrolet Salesmen states it's 173 1/8 for the 1/2 ton. Don't know if this helps but it's more corroboration of the site information I guess.
ok I triple Checked my measurement and am still comeing up with 173 1/2. Let me tell you why this is bothering me. My frame had been hit in the center and was and twisted. The twisted side was removed and straightened. but in the mean time my shop was having the floor epoxied. That ment moving things to another bay, unfortunatly this bay was smaller and was unable to hold the frame, and guess what, the frame was swiped buy metal scavengers and I am sure has been sent to the scrap yard. That being the case I decided to take things into my own hands and design a new frame in 3 sections and have the front and rear cut out by EDM, the center being boxed tube. So now my problem is how long do I cut the center section of tube?
