I have an American Autowire harness that was not at all complicated to install but I have a problem. With the head lights on the front turn signal lights wont work. I've double checked the grounds, checked & rechecked every possible connection but I cannot seem to find the source of the problem. Any suggestions?

Use the test light to ascertain f there's power to the flasher can , then follow the current path downstream and see if there's flashing current leaving the switch etc. , etc. until you find the " open " in the T. Sig. circuit...

The turn signals are the upgraded with the dual contacts so they double as turn signals and park lamps.

Well, you just lost me. I know what the connections to a TF turnsignal switch is like, be it 3 or 6 wire, but I know nada about the one you have.

should go from fuse to flasher to make it hot then from flasher to steering column connector(purple wire on chevy) Then chevy is light blue-LF turn, blue-RF turn, yellow-LR turn, green-RR turn..

Assuming rear turn signals share a filament in the buld with rear brake lights, that would only leave out one wire, from the brake light switch to the column. Shouldn't have anything to do with the front turn signals, but just for future reference what color would it be?

    Wiring Problem

If you go to Painless Wiring site they have wiring manuals listed for GM columns with all of the wire colors.

I've also noticed that the rear left tail light bulb keep blowing out. Not sure if the two are related.

well, i stripped a wiring harness out of a 84 chevy pickup and sit down with a meter and traced every wire....cause i just wanted the tl,bl,ts,horn, lights, cig etc.... so im mating a 84 chevy harness with a 00 vortec lsx computer and harness..but i made me a diagram and mostly all the years close to 84 would be similar....it helped me out a lot...its too big to upload but i can email it if anybody wants to c it....
