I just joined this site and am excited to have found a place to ask questions.

I have a 55 2nd series suburban and am installing a TCI front subframe kit. They give you plates for boxing the existing frame. On my frame the top flange does not stick out (toward the center of the truck) as far as the bottom flange. If I were to install the boxing plates and weld them to the lower flange I have a gap at the top. If I were to install the boxing plates to the top flange, I would have to trim the lower flange and then there would be to much clearance between the plates and the cross member.

Does that all make sense? My question is, has anyone installed one of the TCI kits, and if so how did you box the frame? Do you have any pictures?

I have contacted TCI, but didn't get a response that made sense.

    Any help would be appreciated.

line the plate with the top of the frame. tack weld top then make sure the bottom is 90 deg and tack weld the bottom. You can leav it like that are cut off whats is left.

I did a c-4 corvette kit and had the same problem
