    So here it goes...
Thanks all for helping me with the 216/235 issue. Now...
I go to pick up the 51 from my brother all the while I am looking for a 235 to replace the 216 blown up motor, when he lets me know that the motor in the truck is a 235 but a short block. Now after talking to folks here in colorado they say there is no 235 short. When he put the engine in there is about 2-3 inches of space butting up to the tranny and the engine is not fully installed. Now I am going to pull the motor when I get the truck to my house and go through it. I think he just could not line up the spline. Long story short – is there a 235 short block and a 235 long block? And if so any ideas on getting it to fit?
    Thanks
    in advance

most of the time when someone refers to a short block to a long block, they are talking about what is included. Short block is usually just the block and the main internals and does not have the intake manifold, carb/throttle body, etc. Long block most of the time means it is a complete motor ready to be dropped in.

So there is no difference in length. Thank you. Now at least I do not have to find a new motor. I also win a Sixer from my brother...:D
