Hi, I'm thinking of converting my turbo 350 out and putting in a 700R4. Can anyone tell me if there are any identifing numbers/stampings anywhere on the case or anywhere else so that I can tell if it is the trans that I need. I'm told that I should look for a 88 or newer model!
Any tips or advice will be greatly appreciated!
    Thanks,
    Don

The 700R4 CAN take higher than average horsepower, but it needs to be BUILT for it. Check out the offerings from http://www.700r4.com, Bowtie Overdrives. Look at their top-of-the-line offering and what was done during the rebuild.

I swapped one of their 2nd tier transmissions into my panel and it was the happiest day of my life ! ;)
