Today was a landmark day!:) I starting laying down basecoat on the cab and doors. This is the first day in Central Texas in weeks when we have not had 20 mph+ winds. The humidity is high today for a place that has not had significant rain in over 17 months, but you gotta go with what you get...

My spray booth is a 10 ' X 20 ' canopy with side enclosures. So far, it has worked well.

To celebrate the event, I had a Shiner. For those of you that do not know, Shiner is THE BEER of Texas. This one is a Bock, but I like the Black Lager just as well.

P.S. I only had one minor drip that was around the gas filler hole. I think it will be covered up by the gasket, but I will scrape it out when I color sand.

The base coat is relatively easy in that it dries quickly. Just remember to go lightly on the clear, it likes to run and collect bugs. That is the only way to do it......jump right in. It really isn't as hard as some might think. Good job. Remember....beer AFTER you paint.....

    Good Job !

I can't paint but we set up a similar thing in my backyard a few years back , used lots of tape on the seams and added ground ' skirts ' to prevent any dust from blowing in at the worst possible moment....

That car came out pretty good ! glad I didn't crush it for scrap like I wanted .

    Keep the pix coming .

I set up one of those tents for working on my '58, but the winds here in Boulder (gusts over 80 mph) put an end to that. It lifted the entire 10x20 tent with 12 large stakes in the ground and 3 15 pound weights and threw it over the fence into my new (4 day old) GMC. The tent ended up in the trees across the street after doing about $1000 damage to my truck.

Oh yeah ~ me too ! the first two I had , flew around the backyard , scratching the heck out of my oldies and denting my old Datsun pickup to hell , then flew over the fence....

Now I have it potted in 5 gallon buckets of quickcrete....
