Just got back from taking the truck on another trip. Left at 3:00 pm and we just pulled in and sat down in from of the computor.

This combo with the rear being a 342 is so sweet going down the road. Still need some more get up on caburation, however the one barrel does just fine.
This trip the gas gauge kind of worked the fleasher took a crap and the reworked driveshaft kept most of the vibrations to a minimum.
Got to get the heater fixed for sure cause the upper desert is really cold, well cold to me not nothing like that sub zero stuff.
Was just tols my dinnner is really.

    Thanks Ken,
What also was a treat is seeing a lot of oldies on trailers be it cars, trucks. Did see one trailer with a 1/2 ton five window basket case he had all the parts in the bed of his duallie and crammed into the cab of the AD and it circle roped like a bee hive. We stopped for gas in Mohave and some people also stopped we had passed some time back and asked about the V8 in her they were really pleased to see it still had the inline six in it. :D

Fasten a chain gate across it and go for it. :D
Back in the late sixties we did that to a 53 dodge truck with chain gate doors and ran the crap out of it between Newhall and Landcaster, drove the HP's wild, we screwed a plastic windshield to it and had a plywood bed on it. We had also a 51 four door ford we cut the top off of and had a reo truck radiator wired to the front of it with the same chain gate latches on the door openings.. Truck got flipped one day and the car burned to the ground one night while we were passed out from partying.
By the way, where is the door to your ride ?

    Way To Go !

Those longer rides sure are fun ! .

I'm about to head off to Death Valley again , not in my truck this time tho .

I'm not well enough to use a clutch yet :(

All those oldies you saw on the road , were headed off to the Pomona Swap Meet , the biggest one on the West Coast .

There's usually a buncha AD's in various forms there .

The trailered ones were coming back from Pomona, at that time of the day. We had stated out about 3 in the afternoon. Still a lot of fun no matter what time we take out.

    Thanks Zig.
Tomorrow afternoon I'm going to drive to the Dallas Tx. area and then into Okla. to see my GrandMother(94) and Great Aunt(96) then come on back. Kind of which I could drive the truck but it still has some door, wiper, heater, radio, sun visor issues, it would be a great trip. I'll see how this little Metro 4 dr. will do, I picked it up when the gas was 4+ a gallon it getting 26 to 30 per gallon it should cost less than the plane ticket and car rental.

You're starting to scare me Charles...we have the same truck and both of us are driving 4 dr Metros!:D My guess is yours is not dark blue with lime green wheels though.:eek: It's an ugly critter, but it gets me to work-cheaply.

Have a nice, safe trip! Enjoy the time you spend with your family and friends.

If you're going to the NE corner of Oklahoma, then you need to go just a tad further north to my little burg! Pittsburg! I'd give Rob (Shotwheels) a holler and we could treat you to some Kansas hospitality!
