I have a '53 1/2 ton. Looking to swap out the 216 for a '62 261. Does anyone know where I could find one? I'm out in Nevada. So if anyone somewhat close has one they want to get rid of, let me know. I've been through all my local yards, nothing. Any kind of help would be appreciated.
    Thanx fellas,

Didja ever fix or sell this truck ? .

I've found 261's in old bread trucks (P Vans) as well as crusty Big Bolts , remember : they used it up the 1962 model year on C-50 and larger plus school busses so the old nasty trucks being used as fencing 'round those desert junkyards often have them if you but go look .

Or , Jim Karter (spelled with a C dig) has plenty and will ship one to you .

All 1958-62 Canadian built Pontiac cars have them. Parisienne, stratocheif, laurentians. If its a canadian pontiac with a 6cyl, its sure to be a 261
