Ok my windows wouldnt go down i got a new switch didnt fix so i guess the problem is motor how hard is it to change motors out ????????
They're not that hard to do, but if the motors won't work at all that will make it more complicated. Pull the interior door panel/trim Tape the window in the up position Unbolt the regulator and push it in so the studs clear the door, then slide it off the window tracks Adjust the arms so that you can slide the regulator and motor assembly out through the hole at the rear of the door (this is where its easier if the motor works) Disconnect wiring harness Unbolt the old motor and install the new one Did both windows stop working at the same time? If they did, that sounds more like a fuse/wiring problem. You can try to test the motors with a spare battery, if you can jumper it to the motor or through the switch. I have the connector/wires that I got from a junkyard truck so I can do this, but it might be harder to find one for a '77-'81 pw truck. Also if they were slow/hard going up before they quit, this would be a good time to look at the rollers/tracks. If the rollers are dirty/cracked/gummed up, they will kill a new motor fairly quickly. If they are dirty, clean and lube them with lithium grease or silicone spray. If they are cracked, I'd replace the whole regulator; I've tried replacing just the rollers from LMC, but they were as bad as the rollers they replaced. I bought 2 new regulators from Classic Parts and my windows work MUCH better now.
