I was yesterday by my specialist to talk concerning chrome protection. He has developed an emulsion to protect chrome and paint for cars/trucks. It's a fluid with tungsten and makes all surfaces a lot of smoother. After a touch on the surface i believed i slip away. Any dust/oil/water couldn't hold on the surface. I took engine oil over my new chromed bumper and the oil flew complete away. We took a look on the surface with a electron microscope and the fluid fill out all very small grooves in the chrome surface and makes it perfect. an examle: I used this on a scratched DVD - sprayed it on the DVD, wipe away and the DVD runs without failure. Great Knows somebody a material with the same characteristic? (It's not a "nano-technic", it's real metal)
it's cheaper as you think After my last information it's not too expensive. for 25 square metres cost about $25. I will check how long hold this on my truck. Because i come to the US in September and could bring few spray bottles to the US. I think it's the cheapest way to test it.. A german personal service Let me check this material and i come back in 2 month with the result.
test starts today I start the test today. I mask the half of the hood and the windshield from my Audi with tape and used on the unmasked side this magic material. Because my car lives outside i will see how is the effect if it's raining and dusty. Come back end of the week with the results. Volker
Hey Volker What is the excat name off this emulsion and do they sell it elsewhere in Europe? Martinius
Mein Freund, jedes mogliches Wachs tut den! You need a longer "test" period! If you want to get real results, you need time, grime and adverse weather! The real test is how old chrome pieces stand up to the weather, especially 40 to 50 year old chromed pot metal. Take some old door handles that have been used and abused and coat half of them with the solution, then throw them in the back yard and forget about them for a year or so, then inspect them. Make sure to keep them wet, dirty and otherwise neglected! Also, put the solution on rubber parts and see how it affects that too! Does it make the rubber brittle? Does it eat the painted surfaces after time? If it passes those tests, count me in!
Volker ! Be careful ! Ken knows how hard it is to find decent Streamliner door handles ~ if you bury yours , he'll jump a jet and come dig up your back yard and snitch them.......... Just funnin' , this stuff sounds very interesting .
