Any one know where i can get some skrits at i know chevs of the 40s has the tear drop style but im trying to find the truck skirts with no luck
Say it ain't so! Can you spell Sacriledge! Tell me that you're not really thinking of putting skirts on an AD Now on a '58 Belaire, but only as long as you put a Continental Kit on it too! That's the only one. Well, wait, '59 and '60's need them too because they are butt ugly without them, but really, that's it. Wait, wait, the '62-64 Chevies looked pretty cool with them too, but only if they had lake pipes. That's it! Well, OK, '53 studebakers looked good with skirts, but only if they had at least a 3" chop on the roof. Then, again, so did the Merc's of that era! But that's it! Seriously, no trucks! Just funning! There are several shops here in Texas that sell fiberglass and metal skirts for AD's. Do a google search for "fender skirts" and you'd be surprised. Skirts on a truck Geez, what is this world coming to
Here's a fun link. www.bigjims.net Make sure and look at the wheel covers too. I love the naked lady wheel covers!
Big Jim even has a set for my TF truck. Do I need a Continental Kit to go with the skirts Ken? I think this is the '58 Impala Ken was referring to. It has a Continental Kit. Shows up at our local Saturday night shine and show quite often. https://talk.classicparts.com/photos/showphoto.php?photo=758&size=big&cat=&sort=1&ppuser=2120&sl=b
AD Fender Skirts O.K. , the originals by Foxcraft are out there ,some have nifty stainless steel speedline strips . The deal is: they fit over the fender opening so look closely as some don't like how they look once installed . Me , OTOH , I love " Necessories " , especially those that have chrome or stainless steel on them and if it also lights up , I'm in hog heaven I'd think The Truck Shop in Orange , Ca. on Batavia would have these in re-pop at competitive prices .
What kinda question is that Bill! Why would you need a Continental Kit when you don't even carry a spare?
Been everyday driving spareless for 10 years. Have yet to need it. Am I living right? Not likely. Luck? Mine is usually bad. Must be the GMC gods watching over me. Saves on gas because of less weight. The spare was originally mounted on the outside of the bed, driver's side. Looked too much like a farm truck. When I painted the truck 10 years ago I also installed an under-the-bed gas tank which uses up the other logical place for the spare. "Before" picture below. It's down in the back because the bed had about 8" of water balloons that the neighborhood kids were going to use once the July 4th parade was over.
