The parking brake lever on my 59 task force truck wont hold in the engaged position. When I engage the parking brake the teeth on the gears seem to slip and the lever grinds back to the released postion. I have removed and inspected the lever, release button, and spring tension on the release button, and the teeth on the gears, and they appear to be fine and seem to hold tight with no slipping with the lever removed. When engaged with the lever mounted in the correct position the lever holds tight and will not slip but once I re-connect the emergency brake rod to the lever it will not hold. Dont wont my truck to roll away when parked on those steep hills. Anyone else had this problem? Do the teeth wear out? Any tricks I should try before starting to hunt for a new lever? I also posted this in the AD section by mistake. Thanks, Robert
