Hey Guys (Gals), I just upgraded to the newer style tie rod ends on my 1/2 ton and the tie rod looks like it is really low (like it hangs well below the axle )when the rod is installed with the tie rod ends inserted in the steering arms from the bottom. Is this the correct way or should It be installed from the top down?

55.2 thru 59 is from the top. I'm not sure about ADs.

Thanks Bill. Mines a 49 so maybe someone that has done this upgrade will chime in. I'm tempted to just do it but I'd have to switch ends to make the grease fittings accessable. :D

    Craig,
Sent you a private message also. The tie rod should mount on top, unless you have a dropped axle, according to the instructions. It really shouldn't matter, as long as there is clearance for everything. Mine is on top, but I will recheck after I install the dropped axle.........Mike
