This is on my 87 which only has 63k original miles..coolant is coming from bellhousing hole..

can't see any intake leaks so looks like it's the back freeze plug and the one on the back drivers side is leaking too which I can get to that one without pulling the engine.

but to fix the back one you have to pull the engine or use bar stop leak.

should I just use the stop leak since it has such low mileage and no other leaks or problems....

I'm for doing things right but this is a little bit insane to pull the engine over a 50 cent piece of metal plug!

so give your honest op and don't just yell fix it right..lol

    Problem fixed! well kinda.....

hell yah! I don't have a back freeze plug leaking...the drivers side back one faked me out!

I told you I knew the drivers side one at the back of the exhaust manifold was leaking...well part of that was running back behind the top of the bellhousing and well down it and out the hole.....

whew! only one bad plug and it is leaking around the bottom rim of it like it needs to be reseated..I don't think it's rusted through.

I'm down south and the owner garage kept it and flushed the engines coolant every 2 years...I have proof in his little book plus I asked him about it.

so I if I can get in there with a hammer and a socket I might can seat it..it's in a bad spot tho the exhaust manifold may have to come off if it has to I'll just replace it since I'll have the room.

do they make a special tool for this so you don't have to take the manifold off?

thanks! I'm so glad I don't have to pull the engine lol.

If your plugs are steel there rusted or starting pop out a little. That may work but I would keep eye on it because soon or later it going to leak again mostly on really cold or really hot day you could loose the motor on a day like that. Good luck
