I have installed new door latches and door controls. I have also put in new outside handles with locks. My problem is when I push the outside door button, it does not seem to fully disengage the latch. If I reach in and pull the inside door handle this will finish the disengagement of the latch. Can anyone help me with this?

sounds like doors could be over stretched from opening too far. I gave my upper and lower hinge a good whack with a block of wood and a two pound sledge hammer and "voila", bingo, it helped. be carefull as you dont want to do too much, but this did help me as I was having a heck of a time with mine!
    Good luck!

Remove the door handle, roll down the window so you can pull the door open with one hand while you poke your finger through the door handle hole and push in on the flat surface the pin in the handle pushes against. If the door opens then the pin on the new handle doesn't push the lever far enough. Had this happen with repro handles. I add an extension to the pin and all works okay.

I just have the welder add a dab of weld to the contact point , this takes up the excessive clearance Even & Indy are talking about...

You guys were right. I ended up cutting the contact point for the latch and had it rewelded closer to the door handle pin. Installed new strickers and the doors open and close like new. Thank you.

I have also bent the contact point a little to insure proper push length.
