Does anyone have a RANCO heater valve they would like to sell? I pulled a Harrison Fresh Air heater off a junker in a bone yard and forgot to get the valve. The bone yard is no longer available.

Our host rebuilds them, but you have to have a core or they won't do it.

    Greg,

I used the guy on the link below to rebuild my valve. Great job. Fair price. good guy. He had a couple in stock, but you will have to pay him a core charge if you cannot send yours.

    No picture

    Bob,

That's the problem. I don't have one to take a picture of. Andy's post and link shows the 50' version and it is the same for my '51.

I don't have the core to rebuild.

    Thanks Bob.

So far the prospects do not look good for finding one. I may have to make the boneyard circuit. We have had 40+ straight days over 100° in Texas, so I am going to have to wait until the wrenches don't sizzle in my hands.

I have one , it looks decent. What I need is the control rod to control the valve. May be we could work out something. I need to send another one in to be rebuilt, I could send it in under your name if you are ready.

    Gary1of2,

Thanks. To what company are you sending them to be rebuilt?

I could either pay you for the core or maybe I have something you would like in trade? I have a few items that I bought repops and then decided to rebuilt the original.

You can PM me with a response.

I will send it to classic parts. They did the last one for me. It will be shortly. We need to make arrangement with classic parts.

    Greg,

If you can't find a complete valve set up for your heater, I might be able to help you out. There's a wrecking yard by me that has several of these old trucks. That's where I got mine. I'd almost bet there's at least one more there.

    Greg,

Found one at the wrecking yard. It's complete except for the knob and the bracket that the rod goes through. Of course, it'll need rebuilding. $10 for the who;e thing. Let me know if you're interested.

Sorry, I feel like I am juggling here...

Gary and Paul B.: Do either of the ones you have have the capillary tube still intact? Apparently, it must be there for someone to rebuild the unit.

    Greg,

The one I found still has the tube intact.
