250 in 1951 split cast headers

my split cast iron headers are hitting my stearing box
any ideas or sugg ????

 

A little more info or better yet a picture would help. Is it barely touching or sitting down on top of the box? How much of a clash---1/8", 1/4", 1/2" ?

Are these the re-pop Fenton headers ? .

There should be about 1/4" clearance , it's really snug .

It'll run better with a dual outet stock exhaust manifold.......
