Hello I'm to rebuild the parking brake of my truck. I think I have all the parts together, that I found. But after restoring the parking brake I have now the problem if I kick the pedal down it will lock but if I try to unlock it it want return. I think there's missing a spring, but where have I to connect it? Ask Wolfgang
p.b. spring There is a little tab on top of the steel p.b. rod under the cab. The spring hooks there and goes to the cross member right behind the cab. The spring is in two pieces the spring and a piece of stiff wire with a hook bent on both ends.
Spring for parking brake Hello Gary, could you tell me the sizes of these spring lengh, diameter, strengh of the spring wire? Maybe I can get it here in Germany. Wolfgang
Since your truck is a 3/4 ton you may not have the clip he talks about. If not your spring will attach to the clevis under the cab since most 3/4 tons have a two piece actuating rod. This then clips with a long wire into the triangular piece off the frame. Mine had an additional small about 1" long c-clip for this purpose if you can't find it the spring/wire sold by Jim Carter should work you can see it on his site as Part number MEB113. I can measure mine if you would like the actual dimensions.
Another PB spring Don't forget the spring the Pedal Lock and the firewall (PN 3695565) inside the cab. Reference: Sect. 5, Sheet 3.00 in the F.A.M. Greg
