hey does anyone know anything about paint? my truck which i have had for 15 years, has a red paint, i am sure it is enamel.. was painted before i pruchased it.. but all of a sudden it is developing small cloudy spots.. they look kinda like water spots after washing.. but they are not water spots.. if a use a cutting wax i can make them fade.. but they dont go away.. i cant keep using a cutting wax.. or i wont have any paint left.. nothing is getting on truck.. it resides in my shop.. spots are not limited to a specific area... its really wierd... any ideas?
Hard to tell without pics of what it looks like . Sounds like solvent pop 0r (fisheyes) Moisture or contaminants in the layers of primer or paint from not being properly prepped right . Some painters will wetsand & buff to Hide them But they allways come back to haunt you . Neither problem can be fixed without a complete stripped & done over IMHO . . But like I said . just guessing without being able to see it . Bob
arrg, weird, i have have the truck for 15 years with out this problem.. not sure why it would start happening now. yep thats what it looks like mosture cloud just under surface some how. I dont think i can post a photo that you would be able to see... looks like water spots some are tiny, some are size of quarter...
