How much should the compression on a 235 from 1962 read?

    Thanks

It should read 8.25:1 for the 235 6 cylinder 60'-62'

I was actually referring to a compression gauge reading at the spark plugs.
    Any idea ?

    Thanks.

I don't have a manual on the 62 but I do have a 1959 Chevrolet passenger car shop manual supplement. It shouldn't be to much different. 235 Hi-Thrift six-cylinder; compression pressure (cranking) 130 Psi (Min).

It is not so important the actual pressure but the difference between the cylinders I think as long as there is no more than a 10% difference between the lowest and highest you should be ok.
