Hello all, I am going to replace the front and rear shocks on my 1965 model Chevrolet 1/2 ton pickup and was wondering about the quality of some of the different options I have for my pickup. The shocks that are on it it currently are stock factory originals. They are the spiral designed ones that were on these pickups for those years. I have the oppurtunity to get a set of original stock GM Delco spiral shocks just like the ones that are on there currently. These shocks are NOS, are new and never been used. They are out of an old GM dealerships parts department. They are matching numbers and all. Now here is my question, in your opinion are these shocks better than what I can go and purchase today from a local parts store? Are they better built and better quaility than say a set of Gabriel or Monroe gas charged shocks of today? I have had different opinions about this and want to make the right decision. Please let me know what your professional opinion is on them and the pros and cons of each. As far as price, I can get the old Delco shocks for about the same price as a set of Gabriel or Monroe gas charged shocks from my local parts store here in town. Thanks again and please if you could let me know all you know about these shocks and what your opinion is on them and what would be the best decision to make on the basis of quailty, load handiling, ride comfort and durability for my pickup. I look forward to hearing from you soon. -- Mark A. Bailey mabailey@multipro.com Are you a vintage Chevrolet/GMC pickup collector or enthusiast?
