    Hi All,
I've just joined the forum and would like to know if anyone has run
into a similar problem. I have a 66-C10 with a factory original tach. The tach does not work because it only has 1 wire attached which is directly in the center of the tach when looking at the back. There are 2 studs which I assume are the terminals for the positive and negative wires and my questions are, where do I terminate these wires on the other end and which terminal stud is the positive on the tach?
One final question, where can I find a service manual or a factory assembly manual for this model truck? (66 C10)
Thanks to anyone that can provide free advise.

on your last question, you can get all the manuals you requested on the ChevyDuty site un the manuals section. ANd by the way, if you want to give the tach up, let me know..:)

Hi JC, I'd recommend you get a factory Tach harness. One wire connects to a switched lead on the fuse panel (power source) the other connects to the coil, (input source for RPM readout) The grey wire (the one coming out the center)is the light and should be patched into the dash lights.

I have been looking for a factory tach for a 1966 Chevy for a while. If anyone has a lead on one I would be willing to pay well or maybe trade for other parts?

    Please email directly to dcorti@selway.umt.edu

    Thanks

I would try looking on eBay, I have seen about 4 or 5 in the last year on there, it is the complete dash set with tach and needle gauges. I have even seen one with the AIR gauge on it. It came out of a C-30 I believe. Let me know if you need some direct links to the parts section where you can begin your journey to find one. They are rare, but they can be found, trust me.
